How Investors Can Accelerate Corporate Climate Policy Action in 2026 (Asia)

An InfluenceMap Webinar

Many companies and investors recognize that climate-related policy engagement is critical to limiting the business and financial risks posed by climate change. For years, companies have steadily improved their real-world climate policy engagement activities and their transparency on the topic, often owing to targeted investor stewardship. InfluenceMap’s analysis under the latest CA100+ Net Zero Company Benchmark reveals that, in 2025, Japanese and Korean companies improved their performance despite a global pause in progress. Simultaneously, FinanceMap analysis of investor stewardship shows that, in 2024—the most recent year analyzed—Japanese asset managers surpassed backsliding US asset managers in their efforts to drive companies to align their lobbying with 1.5°C. Moving forward, increasingly widespread, robust investor stewardship of companies’ climate policy engagement activities is needed.
