In this new quarterly webinar series, InfluenceMap’s LobbyMap team will explore key trends in corporate climate policy engagement and discuss emerging corporate best practice. We will overview our scoring process and highlight how our methodology for evaluating companies’ engagement with climate policy can empower companies, investors, and other stakeholders to align their advocacy with scientific recommendations. Rachel Crossley, Head of Stewardship, Europe at BNP Paribas, will share how investors can leverage InfluenceMap's data to drive science-aligned climate policy engagement. The webinar will conclude with a discussion of recent trends in corporate climate policy engagement coming out of COP29, followed by a Q&A.

Tom Holen

Program Manager, Energy Transition

Prior to joining InfluenceMap in November 2020, Tom completed his MSc in Environment and Development at Lancaster University, At InfluenceMap, Tom leads our work stream on the ‘Energy Transition’, in the Fossil Fuel Team, focusing on corporate advocacy from the oil and gas sector on policies related to the energy transition, such as decarbonization and hydrogen.

Program Manager, Fossil Fuels

Vivek is a Program Manager at InfluenceMap, where he leads the Fossil Fuels program. This includes the development of InfluenceMap's global Methane Platform, an interactive tool designed to track corporate engagement on methane policy proposed by governments. He also leads the program aimed at expanding the analysis of climate policy engagement in India. Vivek joined InfluenceMap in November 2020 after completing an MSc in Economics and Policy of Energy and the Environment at University College London. He also holds a BSc in Economics from the University of York.

Rachel Crossley

Head of Stewardship, Europe

Rachel joined BNP Paribas Asset Management in September 2021. She has more than 30 years of wide-ranging experience at the intersection of sustainability, international development and responsible investment. Based in London, she is Head of Stewardship for Europe within the Sustainability Centre of BNPP Asset Management. BNPP AM is one of Europe’s largest asset managers, investing €591 billion (as at end September 2024) for a wide range of clients.

Rachel’s role encompasses engagement with European companies to drive better policy, practice and disclosure on a wide range of sustainability issues, as well as voting at their annual meetings. She also participates in various initiatives designed to encourage policymakers to adopt laws, regulations and standards to deliver sustainable and equitable economies. Rachel represents BNPP AM in several key investor networks. She is co-chair of the IIGCC European Climate Lobbying Working Group, and a member of the IIGCC Corporate Programme Advisory Group, the Steering Committee of the Investor Initiative on Hazardous Chemicals (IIHC) and the Access to Nutrition Initiative (ATNI) Expert Group.

Ed has led InfluenceMap's research on lobbying and corporate influence (LobbyMap) since 2017, having joined the company in 2015. Working with a team of dedicated analysts, Ed manages InfluenceMap's system for tracking and assessing the climate change lobbying of world's largest 400 industrial companies and their key trade associations. He represents the LobbyMap to InfluenceMap's key stakeholders in the finance, corporate, civil society and policymaker sectors. Before InfluenceMap, Ed completed a Masters at the London School of Economics.
