Many companies and investors recognize that climate-related policy engagement is critical to limiting the business and financial risks posed by climate change. For years, companies have steadily improved their real-world climate policy engagement activities and their transparency on the topic, often owing to targeted investor stewardship. But InfluenceMap’s analysis under the latest CA100+ Net Zero Company Benchmark reveals that, in 2025, this progress has paused. Simultaneously, FinanceMap analysis shows that while investor stewardship on climate lobbying from the world’s largest asset managers has improved since 2021, only a few managers stand out in driving companies to align their lobbying with 1.5°C. Moving forward, widespread, robust investor stewardship of companies’ climate policy engagement activities is needed.
In this webinar, InfluenceMap—joined by the Church of England Pensions Board and the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC)—will explore the state of corporate climate advocacy, discuss how investors can engage companies on the topic, and highlight opportunities for investors to combat the lack of progress over the coming year, with a specific focus on Europe.
This webinar is open to all, with a specific focus on asset managers and owners, investor and business convenors, and companies.
Attendees will explore best practice and opportunities for improving investee companies’ corporate climate policy engagement, as well as upcoming moments for stewardship and policy engagement over the coming year.
